This is my original mixed media painting from my current exhibit “Fire Followers” at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at the University of British Columbia.

The exhibit "Fire Followers" aims to give voice to forests impacted by the BC wildfires. This exhibit will show the destruction but also the great beauty that comes from wildfire. By giving a voice to the forests, the aim is to bring greater awareness of the necessity of wildfire in building a healthy forest.

The paintings include charcoal that has been gathered from these forest fires in hopes that they immortalize the destroyed forests, celebrate the wildflowers that thrive off the destruction and show the beauty in the darkness.

For more information about the exhibit, visit : https://www.zoology.ubc.ca/~biodiv/fire/

This painting will be on view for the duration of the exhibit, which runs until October 2021. If you purchase this original piece, it will be sent out as soon as the exhibition closes.

This painting is 9x9 inches and comes framed in a deep white frame.
